1) An 85.X QB rating for a QB on a successful team running the WCO for 16 years is not great. The WCO inflates the QB rating ten points. Even being conservative with Favre his QB rating is about an 81 without the WCO, and probably is lower.

2) All the numbers you site are regular season numbers. Consider that Favre in the 2000's (including his time with the Vikings well after this article) Favre had a 121.8 QB rating in 4 wins, and a 64.4 QB rating in 6 losses. Having great regular season numbers and awful postseason numbers when it matters most is like a race car driver who always leads on the 230th lap but crashes on the 240th lap of a 250 lap race.

3) The Packers were selling out before Favre came, and they will be selling out now that he is gone.

4) For the Tampa fans who warmed to the thought of Favre playing for the Bucs, all Favre wants is to play with buddies. He doesn't want to be responsible and have pressure on him. He wants a team that is great, not merely good to very good or else he knows he can't get it done. Hence, the 64.4 QB rating in playoff exits.

Hind sight is always 20-20 but I guess Mike and Ted saw it pretty clear back on 08 too.
